Jason Katzenbach, PH.D.
Dr. Katzenbach has been providing therapy and assessment services in the South Sound for over ten years. He completed his doctoral training in Counseling Psychology at Brigham Young University as well as pre and postdoctoral work in the Veterans Healthcare System where he received specialized training in PTSD and integrative medicine. He has experience helping people with a variety of challenges including anxiety, PTSD, OCD, panic, ADHD, depression, chronic pain management, sleep/insomnia, and men’s issues. He also specializes in helping people struggling with faith crises and navigating religious transitions from fundamentalist backgrounds. He is experienced in working with veterans and military families, and he enjoys working with first responders including police, paramedics, and firefighters.
Dr. Katzenbach takes a holistic, evidence-based and integrative approach to therapy. His approach is grounded in functional medicine and he takes a broad view of recovery which includes a focus on sleep, nutrition, movement, relationships, career/education, meaning/purpose and our relationship with our thoughts and feelings as potential treatment target areas. He uses evidence based approaches incorporating ongoing progress tracking to ensure treatment efficacy. He utilizes a variety of evidence based approaches specifically tailored to the unique needs of his clients. Above all, he is focused on creating strong relationships to help his clients move forward towards their recovery goals. He values creating a meaningful connection with his clients and as such works with people on an in-person basis only.
He values diversity and is flexible in adapting treatment to a wide range of cultural, racial and spiritual backgrounds. He is an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist and is skilled in working with people from a wide range of gender and sexual identities.
In his free time, Dr. Katzenbach enjoys spending time with his wife and his dog Ripley. He also enjoys snowboarding, playing the guitar, and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
